Here is the thing about November in London. It creeps up on you. One minute the autumn leaves are crunching under your feet, the next you're leaving work in the pitch black, wondering where the year went. So we're doing what Irish women have always done when the cold sets in. We're gathering. On the 4th of November, we're taking over a room in Covent Garden, filling it with brilliant women, live performances, and a few good drinks, and marking Samhain the way we know best.

So we're doing what Irish women have always done when the cold sets in. We're gathering. On the 4th of November, we're taking over a room in Covent Garden, filling it with brilliant women, live performances, and a few good drinks, and marking Samhain the way we know best.

Samhain was always the big one. Before it became Halloween, it was the night the harvest ended, the fires were lit, and everyone piled in together to see out the dark half of the year. That's the whole spirit of this. Beo na Samhain means the life of Samhain, and that's exactly what we're after. A room that's alive.

What to expect

We've teamed up with Joe O'Neill and the Irish Creative Collective for this event, and honestly, they've outdone themselves. It's a variety show, heavily supported by Irish women. There's spoken word and theatre that'll catch you right in the chest when you're least expecting it. There's a singer-songwriter to sink into with a glass of something. And there's musical theatre, written and led by women, to close out the night. The line-up will be released in full very shortly. Trust us, you'll want to be the one who says she bought her ticket before everyone else catches on.

The venue does a lot of the heavy lifting. Gilgamesh in Covent Garden is all low light and rich colour. Arrive from 6.30 pm, enjoy our drinks reception and networking, and then at 7 pm you’ll be invited to find your table and settle in before we kick off with our performances.
