Women’s Irish Network UK Welcomes New Chairperson

Today we announce a new Chairperson selected to lead the Women’s Irish Network, as we continue to empower, support and connect Irish female professionals in London. As a result of a committee vote, Yvonne Maher takes over the role from Lorna Mullins to lead a six women strong Board.

Living in London for nearly 20 years, Yvonne has held a number of international management positions in communications agencies specialising in financial services and technology. She brings authentic leadership and unwavering commitment to the role and is an advocate for positive change for women in both their professional and personal lives.

Yvonne Maher said:

“I’m incredibly proud and honoured to take on the role of Chairperson for the Women’s Irish Network, a network connecting and supporting Irish women in London since 1998. My goal is to strengthen and expand the network, attracting a diverse range of women from various backgrounds and career stages.

“WIN is about connections – helping women feel more confident to achieve their goals and ambitions. London can be a lonely city and through our diverse range of engaging events, we aim to inspire long lasting friendships and partnerships. 2025 will be a great year for WIN, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Lorna Mullins said:

"It has been a true honour to serve as Chair of the Women’s Irish Network over the past year and a half. Taking on this role as we emerged from the challenges of the pandemic, my focus was on bringing our events back to life and making the network more accessible to women of all ages and backgrounds. Seeing the network thrive with renewed energy has been my proudest legacy.

“As I pass the baton to Yvonne, I’m excited to see how she will build on this momentum and lead WIN into its next phase. With her expertise and commitment to empowering women, I have no doubt she will continue to strengthen the network and expand its reach. It’s been a privilege to be part of such a long-standing community, and I look forward to supporting Yvonne and the committee as WIN continues to grow."

Yvonne continued:

“On behalf of the Board, we want to thank Lorna for her commitment and support to WIN over the years. As Chairperson she brought rigour and creativity to the network, and built a very strong foundation for events that are interesting and varied.”

WIN is hosting an end of year party on November 21st to thank our members for their commitment this year. It’s open to everyone and we encourage you to come and bring a friend. Please register here.
