WIN Bursary - Terms of service 2021

A copy of the terms as detailed below is also included within the application form for your review and consent.

Criteria

General

To be accepted applicants must confirm that they are:

  • Either Irish or of Irish heritage

  • Identify as female

  • Are resident in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)

  • Aged eighteen (18) years old or above at the time of applying

  • Comply with the Arts or Education Bursary related criteria as detailed below.

Arts

  • Any creative or creative arts-related activity be it the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others.

  • If the activity is provided by an organisation, the organisation must be based in the UK. 

  • If the activity is provided by an organisation, the organisation must be a member of the UK Arts Board.

  • The activity must be undertaken within the UK.

  • The activity can be based online or in person.

Education

  • The course of education you wish to enrol and qualify in must be the equivalent of a Master’s Degree or above.

  • The course of education can be in any subject area.

  • The organisation providing the education must be based in the UK.

  • The organisation providing the education needs to be registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers. 

  • The education course itself need not necessarily be solely UK based.

  • This includes online courses or where there is a period of study abroad as part of the course is permitted.

Bursary Process and Timeline

Please note that only applicants who have fully completed and submitted the WIN Bursary 2022 - Application Form by the advertised deadline will be considered.

The bursary application process for 2022 is soon to open.

  • Shortlisting - TBC 2022

  • First-round interviews - from TBC 2022

  • Second-round interviews - TBC 2022

  • Final decision - TBC 2022

Awarding of Bursaries - Payment

Arts

A one-off payment to the successful candidate on the provision that it is specifically applied by the candidate for the disbursement of the relevant educational purpose of the bursary.

Education

Payment will be paid directly to the education provider unless the course fee is less than the bursary amount in which case we will consider payment towards course materials.

Promotional Activity

The successful applicant will agree to an amount of promotional activity, including but not limited to appearance at the launch of bursary, name and photograph to be published on the WIN website, social media and in other charitable materials and documentation.

Post Evaluation

The successful applicant will give WIN an annual update on progress for the term of the bursary and for 1 year after successful completion of the course /creative activity.

Upon completion of the course / creative activity, the successful applicant will engage with WIN for a period of two years on an annual basis to help evaluate/review the success/impact of the bursary.

Feedback may include;

  • Updates to the questions asked on the application, i.e: What difference did this bursary make to your career?

  • For example, did it help generate new income, create new employment for you and others, reach new audiences, advance education and accessibility for others?

  • How did the bursary help you impact society? Feedback will be used to inform the bursary for future awards

Consent

By submitting an application you consent that all of the information contained within it can be made available to the WIN bursary selection committee.

By consenting to this understanding that the Women's Irish Network will comply with the requirements of GDPR and all other applicable legislation as governed by English Law.
